Yes I know, we all like Aero’s transparency and animation. We all like the smooth windows and the task-switching feature (ALT+TAB). But did you know that Aero uses more graphics memory than the non-Aero interface?
If Aero slows down your computer, you should consider turning it off. Here’s how:
- Right click on your desktop and click Personalize
- Click on Windows Color and Appearance
- Choose Open classic appearance properties for more color options (at the bottom)
- From the
Color Scheme choose Windows Vista Basic or whatever theme suits you.
Note: You can always come back to the Color Scheme and turn Aero ON.
