Did you know that you can replace your current background with any picture you want? On your desktop, you can center, stretch or repeat any graphic file as long as it’s compressed in one of the following formats: .bmp (or .dib) .gif .jpg (or .jpeg) and .png

To change your background, right click on your Desktop, choose Personalize and click on Desktop Background.

All the pictures are categorized in a useful manner: Windows Wallpapers (Windows Vista default wallpapers), Pictures, Sample Pictures, etc. Browse through the categories and if you like a picture, just click on it and it will automatically be set as wallpaper.

If you are looking for a certain picture that is not included in the Picture Location categories,hit the Browse button and select the picture you want. In the Picture Location, a new category will be added, with the path of your picture. Click the category and select the picture you want to use as your desktop background.
